Job Summary
Directs welders, fitters, riggers, and mechanics at Weeks Marine Bourg shipyard; leads safety initiatives (JHAs, toolbox talks) and enforces OSHA/USCG policies; plans manpower, materials, and equipment; reviews lift plans and oversees rigging with crane operators; coordinates with vessel crews, project managers, and dredge/tug captains to keep repair and fabrication work on schedule; maintains daily logs, safety documentation, and progress updates; ensures quality workmanship across barges, tugs, and yard assets; maintains organized work areas and supports overall production planning and material management.
Required Qualifications
- NCCER Rigging Certifications
- Experience with dredge, barge, cranes or tug construction
- Experience in shipyard supervisory or lead role
- Ability to read blueprints, weld symbols, and fabrication drawings
- Ability to supervise multi-craft industrial teams
- Ability to work in heavy industrial outdoor marine environment
- Strong communication and leadership skills
- Ability to work extended hours, nights, and weekends as needed
- Prior shipyard experience
