Job Summary
Coordinate all activities on shift for the Distribution Center's productive and efficient operation, including training staff in the shipping/auditing department. Audit orders prior to shipping, apply labels, generate paperwork, and load orders onto carrier trucks while maintaining inventory integrity. Respond to employee inquiries regarding WMS systems and RF devices, investigate discrepancies, and standardize procedures to improve efficiency. Perform safety sweeps throughout the shift to identify and correct unsafe conditions, enforce policies for compliance, and manage interactions with drivers and other departments. Requires a forklift certificate, proficiency in MS Office, and ability to accommodate non-standard work hours.
Required Qualifications
- three to five years related experience and/or training
- Ability to read and interpret documents such as inventory sheets, timesheets, shipping and receiving documents, safety rules, policy and procedure manuals
- Ability to write routine reports and correspondence
- Ability to respond effectively to employee questions and to present information
- Ability to calculate figures and amounts such as hours worked, overtime, productions
- Ability to apply concepts of basic math
- common sense understanding to carry out instructions furnished in written, oral, or diagram form
- ability to deal with problems involving several concrete variables in standardized situations
- proficient in MS Office, such as Word, Excel and Outlook
- Forklift certificate
- willingness to accommodate non-standard work hours
- Capable of effectively managing job-related stress and fostering productive workplace interactions
