Job Summary
The Shipping Supervisor oversees delivery scheduling and routing within the distribution team to improve profitability and customer satisfaction, ensures DOT driver-file compliance, coordinates with department heads and branch sales, and leads fleet coordination and adherence to shipping policies. Requires a high school diploma or GED, 1–3 years of experience (3 years in a similar role preferred), supervisory experience preferred, a valid driver's license, and strong organizational and communication skills; duties include scheduling deliveries, route optimization, maintaining manifests and driver files, coordinating fleet maintenance, and supporting inventory counts and policy adherence.
Required Qualifications
- High school diploma or GED required
- Minimum 1 year in a progressive position; 3 years in a similar role preferred
- Supervisory experience preferred
- Valid driver's license and clean driving record required
- Knowledge of logistics, including carriers, shipping policies, and procedures
- Strong organizational skills with accuracy and attention to detail
- Effective communicator with strong phone and customer service skills
- Ability to plan routes, multi-task, and adapt quickly to changing priorities
- Ability to lift up to 75 lbs. and stand for up to 8 hours; comfortable working in varying indoor/outdoor conditions
