Job Summary
Oversee shipping operations including consolidation of shipments, inputting freight costs, and carrier selection; supervise shipping staff, optimize routings, and ensure timely shipments and customer service information. Acts as POC for internal/external customers, expedites and traces shipments, maintains truckload capacity, and generates end-of-month data reporting. Uses Blu Jay TMS, SAP, Excel/Word/PowerPoint, and Lean/5S principles to drive efficiency on the production floor and in DC operations.
Required Qualifications
- High School diploma required
- Bachelor’s degree in technical or engineering preferred or equivalent experience
- 5 years’ experience supervising in shipping and receiving
- Minimum 2-5 years of supervisory experience (preferably in a union environment)
- Familiarity with Lean manufacturing and 5S principles
