Job Summary
Shipping Supervisor oversees day-to-day shipping operations and staff to ensure timely and efficient workflow, with accountability for productivity targets, health, quality, and food safety standards. Leads a team, handles training and performance management, maintains packing records and logs, inspects labeling for compliance, coordinates with Receiving and Production to fill orders promptly, creates reports, and supports a safe, compliant warehouse environment. Requires secondary education with post-secondary in business administration or related discipline preferred, and 2-3 years shipping/shipping administration experience; knowledge of GMP, Health and Safety, Food Safety; ERP/Famous software experience preferred; strong MS Office skills; ability to lead and motivate a team; physical ability to lift up to 50 pounds; shift is afternoons; based in Leamington, Ontario, Canada.
Required Qualifications
- Secondary school education required
- Post-secondary education in Business Administration or related discipline preferred
- 2-3 years experience in shipping or shipping administration
- Knowledge of Good Manufacturing Practices (GMP), Health and Safety, and Food Safety
- Knowledge of legislative requirements to maintain compliance to all relevant statues and guiding principles
- Proficient in Microsoft Office (Word, Excel, PowerPoint)
- Knowledge of ERP software; Famous software experience preferred
- Able to work in a team environment
- Proven ability to lead and motivate a team
- Experience in a GMP environment is an asset
