Job Summary
Shipping Specialist responsible for managing scale and system operations of raw materials from suppliers to finished product, coordinating equipment for movement of dry packaged product to the warehouse, ensuring timely rail switches, and maintaining safety policies while providing cross-functional plant-wide support; duties include directing inbound carriers, inspecting paperwork, ensuring compliance, performing night/weekend tasks, serving as dispatch for incident reporting, handling inbound freight records (chemical rail cars) in SAP, and collaborating with multiple internal and external stakeholders to maintain uninterrupted plant operations.
Required Qualifications
- Associate degree in business or related field and/or equivalent experience with functional teams
- Ability to work a rotating 12-hour shift, which will include nights, weekends, and holidays
- Excellent oral and written communication skills
- Strong computer skills; proficiency in MS Office products
- Ability to manage multiple tasks simultaneously in a fast-paced environment
- Knowledge of DOT regulations and regulatory compliance
- Experience with SAP and inbound/outbound logistics processes
- Ability to collaborate cross-functionally with Operations, Logistics, Customer Care, Quality and Purchasing
