Job Summary
Supervise daily shipping and receiving activities, including loading and unloading trucks, verifying shipments, and managing inventory levels. Coordinate with warehouse staff to prioritize tasks, implement safety protocols, and enforce standard operating procedures. Train and mentor team members while utilizing inventory management software to track shipments and generate reports. Monitor key performance indicators such as on-time delivery rates and inventory accuracy to identify areas for improvement. Communicate with internal departments, vendors, and carriers to resolve issues and optimize logistics processes. Requires forklift certification and experience operating material handling equipment.
Required Qualifications
- Proven experience 3+ years in a supervisory role within a shipping and receiving department or similar logistics environment
- In-depth knowledge of shipping and receiving procedures, inventory control principles, and warehouse operations
- Strong leadership abilities with a track record of motivating and developing teams to achieve operational excellence
- Excellent communication skills, both verbal and written, with the ability to interact professionally with employees at all levels of the organization
- Proficiency in using inventory management software and Microsoft Office Suite (Excel, Word, Outlook)
- Proficiency in ERP, especially JobBoss, Visual or SAP
- Detail-oriented mindset with a focus on accuracy and quality
- Ability to prioritize tasks, manage multiple projects simultaneously, and thrive in a fast-paced environment
- Forklift certification and experience operating material handling equipment required
- Familiarity with safety regulations and compliance standards related to shipping, receiving, and warehouse operations
Desired Qualifications
- Bachelor's degree in supply chain management, logistics, business administration, or a related field preferred but not required
