Shipping Receiving Supervisor

Job Summary

Supervise the coordination, completeness, and accuracy of all incoming and outgoing shipments, ensuring proper labeling, documentation, and compliance with customer specifications and DOT regulations. Audit daily shipments for quantity and labeling accuracy, perform cycle counts, manage carbon black silo levels, and oversee the scrap pallet process for disposal and recycling. Direct associate performance reviews, verify labor times, optimize labor allocation to minimize overtime, and fill in for absent staff on varying shifts. Initiate safety meetings, conduct inspections, and maintain accurate accident reports while promoting Lean Manufacturing principles and continuous improvement initiatives. Participate in cross-functional teams to reduce variance and engage in organization-wide improvement projects. Travel to other HEXPOL locations may be required.

Required Qualifications

  • Five (5) years' shipping/receiving or warehouse experience in manufacturing environment
  • Three (3) years' supervisory experience
  • Experience with international shipping
  • Excellent written, verbal, and interpersonal communication skills
  • Excellent computer/systems skills - MS Office (Excel/Word/PowerPoint/Outlook)
  • Excellent cooperation and collaboration skills
  • Excellent organizational skills with the ability to handle multiple tasks and meet tight deadlines
  • Attention to detail, high energy, self-motivated and self-reliant
  • Ability to supervise, coach and develop Associates
  • Ability to interact well with all personality types in a supervisory role
  • Conflict resolution and problem-solving skills
  • Ability to handle personal and confidential information
  • Travel to other HEXPOL locations may be required

Desired Qualifications

  • Associates Degree in Business Administration or related field
  • Experience may be considered in lieu of education
  • Five (5) years' shipping/receiving or warehouse experience in manufacturing environment, preferred
  • Excellent attention to detail, high energy, self-motivated and self-reliant
  • Ability to supervise, coach and develop Associates
  • Ability to interact well with all personality types in a supervisory role
  • Conflict resolution and problem-solving skills
  • Ability to handle personal and confidential information
