Job Summary
Lead the assigned warehouse area by driving safety, quality, and continuous improvement while proactively identifying risks to productivity. Execute daily operations, coordinate cross-shift interactions, and utilize 5 Why Root Cause Analysis to solve issues and implement performance countermeasures. Coach staff through cross-training, daily goal reviews, and standardized work audits to ensure compliance and operational targets are met. Manage administrative reporting, Kronos timekeeping, and MRP data entry while leading change management and kaizen activities. This 2nd shift role (4pm to 2:30am) requires 5 years of manufacturing experience and a focus on team engagement within Simpson Strong-Tie's building industry solutions.
Required Qualifications
- High School Diploma or GED equivalent
- Simpson Strong-Tie Powered Industrial Truck (PIT) Certification
- 5 years related manufacturing experience or training
- Ability to apply basic Algebra and Geometry concepts
- Ability to add, subtract, multiply, and divide whole numbers, fractions, and decimal equivalents
- Ability to read a tape measure to 1/32" tolerance
- Ability to use combination squares to measure angles to +/- 1 degree
- Ability to use and read a micrometer
- Ability to interpret blueprints
- Knowledge of Elimination of waste
- Knowledge of Continuous Improvement
- Knowledge of 6S
- Knowledge of Kaizen & Kanban
- Ability to read and understand information and ideas presented in writing
- Ability to listen to and understand information and ideas presented through spoken words and sentences
- Ability to give full attention to what other people are saying, taking time to understand the points being made, asking questions as appropriate, and not interrupting at inappropriate times
- Ability to effectively present information in one-on-one and small group situations
- Ability to apply common sense understanding to carry out instructions furnished in written, oral, or diagram form
- Ability to deal with problems involving variables encountered during the manufacturing process
