Job Summary
Oversee daily shipping and receiving operations, ensuring accuracy and efficiency while leading and training a team of personnel. Maintain inventory accuracy through regular cycle counts and discrepancy resolution, and coordinate with production, sales, and logistics to optimize material flow. Ensure compliance with safety regulations and operate material handling equipment including forklifts and pallet jacks. Prepare shipping documentation such as bills of lading and customs forms, and implement continuous improvement initiatives within the department. Requires 3-5 years of experience in manufacturing shipping, receiving, or warehousing, with proven ability to lead a small team and strong knowledge of inventory management principles. Proficiency in ERP/WMS systems and forklift certification is essential.
Required Qualifications
- 3-5 years experience in shipping, receiving, or warehousing within a manufacturing environment
- Proven ability to lead and motivate a small team
- Strong knowledge of inventory management principles and practices (e.g., FIFO, cycle counting)
- Proficient in using ERP/WMS systems for shipping, receiving, and inventory transactions
- Demonstrated ability to operate forklifts and other material handling equipment safely and efficiently
- Forklift certification and experience operating various material handling equipment
Desired Qualifications
- Experience with hazardous material handling and documentation (HAZMAT)
- Proficiency in using Enterprise Resource Planning (ERP) systems for inventory management
- Ability to perform minor maintenance on shipping and receiving equipment
- Experience with Lean manufacturing principles and continuous improvement initiatives
