Job Summary
Oversee daily shipping and receiving operations, ensuring accuracy and efficiency while leading and training a team of personnel. Maintain inventory accuracy through regular cycle counts and discrepancy resolution, coordinating with production, sales, and logistics to ensure timely material flow. Implement and enforce safety procedures and company policies, operating and maintaining material handling equipment including forklifts and pallet jacks. Prepare shipping documentation, including bills of lading and customs forms. This role supports manufacturing firms in Allendale seeking skilled professionals to contribute effectively to high-standard warehousing environments.
Required Qualifications
- High school diploma or GED
- 3-5 years of experience in shipping, receiving, or warehousing
- At least 1 year in a lead or supervisory role
- Proficiency with ERP systems (e.g., SAP, Oracle) and inventory management software
- Demonstrated ability to operate forklifts, pallet jacks, and other material handling equipment
- Valid certification for forklifts, pallet jacks, and other material handling equipment
- Strong understanding of shipping regulations (domestic and international) and safety protocols
Desired Qualifications
- Some college or vocational training
- Experience with ERP systems (e.g., SAP, Oracle) for inventory management and order processing
- Forklift certification and experience operating various material handling equipment
- Demonstrated ability to train and mentor junior shipping/receiving personnel
- Familiarity with international shipping regulations and customs procedures
- Experience with continuous improvement methodologies (e.g., Lean, Six Sigma)
