Shipping & Receiving Clerk

Job Summary
Verify and maintain records on outgoing shipments by preparing items, wrapping parts batches, and affixing shipping labels. Load and unload materials onto pallets and racks using forklifts, pallet jacks, and cherry pickers while installing strapping to prevent transit damage. Complete required paperwork, enter transactions into the Epicor inventory management system, and perform inventory cycle counts to investigate discrepancies. Frequently review correspondence and respond to requests in a timely manner while maintaining good housekeeping in the assigned work area. Additional responsibilities as assigned by the supervisor may include temporary department transfers. This role supports Prince Industries' global manufacturing partners in hydraulics, aerospace, and other sectors by ensuring efficient supply chain operations and quality compliance.
Required Qualifications
- High school diploma or GED equivalent
- Ability to recognize and interpret documents such as safety rules, operating and maintenance instructions, inspection materials
- Ability to communicate effectively in both oral and written form with supervisor and all levels within the company as it relates to the job duties
- Ability to comprehend and follow simple oral or written instructions
- Knowledge of shipping and regulations desirable
- Strong attention to detail and organizational skills
- Ability to work under pressure in a fast-paced environment
- Ability to work independently and as part of a team
- Basic computer skills, including experience with inventory management software (i.e., Epicor), Microsoft Office, and data entry
- Experience with FedEx and UPS
- Flexibility to work overtime and weekends as needed
- Must be able to read, write and understand English
- Regularly required to sit, stand, or walk the duration of shift, 8-10 hours
- Frequently required to talk or hear
- Occasionally required to stoop, kneel, crouch, reach or bend
- Manually lift, push or pull up to 40 pounds
- Specific vision abilities required by this job include close vision in which 20/20 vision or corrected vision to 20/20 vision is required
- Occasionally exposed to moving mechanical parts
- Occasionally exposed to fumes or airborne particles resulting from metalworking coolants and oils
- The noise level in the work environment is sometimes loud when working in the plant, in which hearing protection is required
- Due to ITAR regulations, only U.S. persons—defined as U.S. citizens, lawful permanent residents (Green Card holders), and U.S. nationals—are eligible for this position
Desired Qualifications
- Forklift experience preferred
- Work-related experience in shipping environment preferred
