Shipping Receiving Clerk

Job Summary
Greet and check in drivers at the shipping and receiving window, verifying appointment times, load numbers, and shipment details. Assign dock doors, communicate loading instructions, and print or organize shipping documents, pick lists, bills of lading, and labels. Monitor sign-in and sign-out activity for truckload and LTL shipments while answering calls and emails regarding carrier arrivals and dock activity. Report delays, discrepancies, or damages to supervisors and maintain accurate records to ensure compliance with safety and security procedures. Keep the window and office work area safe, clean, and organized. Requires ability to lift up to 10 pounds and work overtime when business needs require.
Required Qualifications
- High School Graduate or General Education Degree (GED) Minimum
- 1 to 3 years of experience in a warehouse, distribution, shipping, receiving, logistics, or customer service environment preferred
- Ability to multitask in a fast-paced warehouse office environment
- Ability to communicate professionally with drivers, carriers, warehouse associates, supervisors, and office personnel
- Strong attention to detail and accuracy when reviewing paperwork and entering information
- Good math, reading, writing, and verbal communication skills
- Problem-solving skills and ability to follow up on shipment or paperwork discrepancies
- Ability to work overtime or adjusted schedules when business needs require
- Must be able to lift, push, or pull up to 10 pounds
- Vision (Near, Distance, Depth Perception)
- Sense or Touch
- Ability to wear Personal Protective Equipment (PPE) (Safety glasses, hearing protection in some cases.)
