Shipping/Receiving Clerk

Job Summary
Coordinate shipping and receiving duties by counting, weighing, and inspecting incoming materials to verify quantity and condition against bills of lading. Prepare product for shipment by ensuring accuracy of quantity, weight, and charges while scheduling transportation as a liaison with trucking firms and freight brokers. Maintain inventory accuracy through cycle counting, prompt requisition, and record-keeping of customer shipping instructions and packing slips. Provide freight cost quotes with tracking information and ensure all customs documentation is accurate for domestic and international clients. Work directly with production and business development teams to verify orders and identify special circumstances such as credit holds. Comply with safety programs, hazardous waste management training, and company policies while maintaining a clean, orderly storeroom environment.
Required Qualifications
- Minimum 2 years of experience working in a material warehouse or storage operation in shipping role
- Minimum 2 years of verifiable forklift experience
- Must be able to attain forklift certification through Hexagon Lincoln
- Valid Nebraska Driver's License with good driving record
- Ability to lift and carry up to 60 lbs. on a regular basis, up to 120 lbs. on an occasional basis
- Ability to sit, stand, bend, climb or walk for up to 8 hours or more per day
- Ability to work with both hands and both feet on a regular basis
- Ability to work effectively in a fast paced and demanding environment with a strong sense of urgency
- Must demonstrate strong organizational skills and attention to detail
- Basic understanding of MRP/ERP systems
- Flexibility to work Saturday and Sunday if needed
- On call availability for special shipments
Desired Qualifications
- High School Diploma preferred
- Basic level of MS Office knowledge and MS Excel preferred
- Experience with International and domestic shipping documentation, such as USMCA, air and ocean paperwork, packing list, and Certificate of Origin
- Prior knowledge of US Export Controls, AES, Foreign Trade Regulations, Standard practices for handling international shipments, HTS, Import Customs and Logistics
- Knowledge of modern warehouse procedures
- Proven experience with invoices, packing slips, bills of lading, freight tags, and the use and meaning of each
- Experience with computerized warehouse record keeping systems
