Job Summary
Ensure deliveries are prepared for shipment or received accurately and timely by maintaining paperwork and communicating with drivers regarding loading and unloading of trailers. Verify seals on incoming loads, monitor refrigerated trucks for proper temperature, and accept packages from UPS and Fed Ex. Check in trucks for product pickup, stage items ready for scheduled loads, and ensure USDA loads are prepared with scanned customs paperwork. Respond to telephone inquiries, print purchase orders, and report food safety and quality problems to personnel with authority.
Required Qualifications
- High School Diploma or GED
- Ability to wear personal protective equipment (bump cap, hair net, ear plugs, beard net (if applicable), Kevlar gloves, safety glasses and leather skid resistant work shoes/boots)
- Ability to apply basic math functions and reasoning
- Familiar with use of RF scanners
- Experience using Microsoft Word and Excel
- Able to scan documents to customers and store files electronically in customer folder
- Comfortable processing high volumes of emails and providing quick responses
- Excellent communication skills with the ability to share pertinent information cross-functionally
- Previous experience safely operating a forklift in a fast-paced environment
