Job Summary
Manage all US shipping for domestic, internal inter-office, and international movements, coordinating in-house and third-party providers while collaborating with the UK shipping manager for consolidated logistics. Oversee carrier agreements, negotiate rates, and select brokerage partners to ensure cost-effective and timely delivery. Provide regulatory guidance on import/export control, licensing, documentation, and HTSUS classification, while enforcing company policies and maintaining records for Customs compliance. Assist with Customs audits and correspondence with authorities, developing recommendations to streamline processes and maximize profitability. Address client concerns promptly and manage vendor performance to satisfy operational needs.
Required Qualifications
- US Customs Broker's License
- Proven knowledge of US Customs Regulations and certain aspects of customs law
- Well-developed organization and communication skills - written and verbal
- Detail Oriented and extremely well organized
- Proven ability to successfully meet deadlines and budgets
- Ability to multitask; conduct problem research and complete projects on deadline
- Ability to manage and manipulate sizeable amounts of data accurately
- Ability to work independently and within a team environment
- Strong problem-solving skills
Desired Qualifications
- Bachelor's degree or the equivalent is preferred
- Minimum of years related experience
- Interest in fine art, art history, and/or auction world
- Self-starter with a desire to grow professionally and develop new skills
- Highly organized and detail-oriented
- Thrives in a collaborative environment and excels in building strong interpersonal relationships
- Fluency in PC applications and Microsoft Office Suite
