Job Summary
Prepare and package manufactured products for shipment, ensuring proper labeling, documentation, and accuracy against customer specifications. Generate shipping paperwork including bills of lading, packing slips, and labels while scheduling daily pickups with freight carriers. Operate forklifts and pallet jacks to move products safely, then record shipment data in the ERP or warehouse management system. Verify outgoing shipments for damage and completeness, maintaining compliance with safety procedures and company policies. Keep the shipping area clean and organized. Assist with receiving, inventory counts, and special projects as needed. Work independently in a manufacturing environment handling physical demands up to 50 lbs.
Required Qualifications
- High school diploma or equivalent (GED)
- 1+ year of experience in shipping, logistics, or warehouse operations (manufacturing environment preferred)
- Basic knowledge of shipping platforms (e.g., UPS, FedEx, LTL systems)
- Familiarity with ERP or warehouse systems (SAP, Oracle, NetSuite, etc.)
- Forklift certification or ability to obtain one
- Strong attention to detail and organizational skills
- Ability to work independently and as part of a team
- Basic computer skills and ability to complete paperwork accurately
- Ability to lift, push, and pull up to 50 lbs. regularly
- Frequent standing, walking, bending, and reaching throughout the shift
- Manual dexterity required to operate shipping equipment and tools
- Use of personal protective equipment (PPE) as required by company policy
