Job Summary
Coordinate loading and delivery of materials while keeping customers informed of upcoming deliveries and delays. Schedule delivery personnel, equipment, and vendor shipments for major buyouts and drop-shipped items. Handle all customer inquiries and complaints regarding deliveries. Ensure proper vehicle and equipment licensing, safety, and maintenance to meet company and government requirements. Maintain records, reports, and files relating to vehicles and transportation equipment. Make recommendations on changes in methods and equipment to improve customer service and reduce costs. Work an 8 to 12 hour shift with occasional overtime and weekend availability.
Required Qualifications
- High school degree or equivalent
- Minimum of three years experience in shipping and receiving
- Excellent knowledge of transporting methods and transportation equipment scheduling
- Superior customer service, communications, planning and negotiation skills
- Resourceful, decisive and accountable
- Excellent ability to handle multiple tasks and prioritize
- Works with a sense of urgency
- Good computer skills including the use of production and shipping, spreadsheet, word processing and email software
- Visual ability to read and interpret material to satisfactorily do job
- sufficiently to be aware of safety issues
- Must be able to lift weights up to 30 pounds OCCASIONALLY from floor to head level
- Must be able to lift weights up to 50 pounds RARELY to OCCASIONALLY from floor to chest level
- Must be able to walk distances ranging from a few feet to several hundred feet
- Must be able to climb OCCASIONALLY onto steps or ladders
- Must be able to Stoop or crouch OCCASIONALLY while performing the regular job duties
- Must be able to Reach forward OCCASIONALLY to FREQUENTLY to perform job duties
- Must be able to Reach overhead OCCASIONALLY to retrieve books, supplies, etc
- Must be able to Push and pull drawers open OCCASIONALLY to FREQUENTLY to retrieve tools or supplies
- Must have Gross finger dexterity skills required operating the mouse
- Must be able to work 40 hours a week
- Must be available for hours including overtime and weekends
