Job Summary
Check in truck drivers and vendors, answer phones, and operate printers, copiers, and fax machines in the shipping office. Use JDE, RFSMART, Excel, and Word to create picks, packs, ship supports, and enter appointments while supporting timely order fulfillment. Operate a forklift to safely place finished products in warehouses, perform pre-operational equipment checks, and monitor gauges. Resolve shipment discrepancies, assign loading doors, and correct overweight truck issues. Maintain clean areas, stack products onto pallets, and participate in loss prevention efforts. Work the 2nd shift from 5 pm to 5 am at Oil-Dri's warehouse.
Required Qualifications
- HS Diploma or Equivalent
- Operate a forklift throughout shift
- Must meet all physical requirements of the position
- Must be able to function in the required role while wearing appropriate PPE including, but not limited to: Safety glasses, hearing protection, dust mask, protective coveralls, and other as may be required by a hot/cold, dusty, loud industrial environment
- lift 50 pounds frequently
- Bending, reaching, twisting, stooping, walking, and climbing stairways and ladders frequently
- Good sight and hearing to avoid hazard
- Ability to direct and instruct people
- Excellent communication skills, oral and written
- Strong planning and organizational skills
- Ability to understand what constitutes good instructions
- Must be able to effectively lead and coach others
Desired Qualifications
- Knowledge of the Oil-Dri Entry, Shipment Procedure, and Product Line, preferred
- Two years of scheduling experience, preferred
- Strong administrative skills with willingness to handle paperwork
- Ability to keep multiple jobs in controlled motion simultaneously
- Experienced user of JDE, windows-based computing and software desired
- Basic knowledge of using Excel, Word, and Outlook
