Job Summary
Shipping Clerk EM (Receiving) responsible for accurately billing out orders, ensuring drivers are checked in and released with appropriate paperwork, and assisting in shipping products. Generates bill of lading based on documentation and load diagrams, completes load information on forms and databases, and maintains schedules and lot layout. Participates as a member of the Team, supports Simmons operating systems and policies, and coordinates work to align with BEST practices. Requires basic English communication, basic math, computer/spreadsheet use, and ability to lift 3-20 pounds; work environment includes cool, wet, and noisy conditions. Employment location: Emporia, KS. Shift coverage includes overnight hours; in-person application at Simmons Foods Hiring Center preferred.
Required Qualifications
- Must be able to read, write, speak, and understand English
- possess basic math skills
- proficient in use of a computer including spreadsheets
- be proficient in data entry
- be able to lift/move 3-20 pounds
- be able to work on feet for shifts
- accept PPE requirements (head covering, ear plugs, steel toe shoes)
- prior experience with inventory and warehouse or food production is a plus
