Job Summary
Conduct accurate fulfillment, assembly, and preparation of outbound customer orders while maintaining compliance with Local 169 union guidelines and OSHA standards. Operate material-handling machinery to pull stock, secure skids with wrap, and safely transport heavy products. Maintain inventory accuracy, document order logs, and perform routine preventive maintenance and cleanliness checks on assigned equipment. Pull assigned orders, assemble products onto skids, label and wrap them securely, and ship them out. Record pulled orders correctly and return unused items to their locations. Maintain order pickers safely, check water levels, and pass required OSHA written and demonstration tests. Hold a valid driver's license and possess certified skills to operate an order picker in a fast-paced environment.
Required Qualifications
- High school or GED
- Valid driver's license
- Present skill and ability to operate an order picker
- Certified OSHA Order Picker Operator (Written & Practical)
- Ability to lift up to 10 lbs 2/3 of the time
- Ability to lift up to 20 lbs 1/3-2/3 of the time
- Ability to lift up to 50 lbs 1/3 of the time
- Ability to lift over 50 lbs up to 1/3 of the time
- Ability to occasionally lift and move up to 30 pounds
- Ability to operate a computer and other office equipment for extended periods
- Ability to visually inspect products, equipment, and work areas
- Required use of personal protective equipment (PPE), including safety glasses, hearing protection, and steel-toed footwear
Desired Qualifications
- 1-2 years of prior experience working in a high-volume warehouse, distribution center, or industrial manufacturing facility
- Proven track record of operating heavy material-handling machinery, specifically order pickers, cherry pickers, or reach trucks, within a fast-paced environment
- Familiarity with OSHA requirements and environmental regulations
- Effective communication and coordination skills
