Job Summary
Retrieve products from specified lines per order pick lists, palletize items using tools like a crimper, and double-check prepared orders against the pick list. Band selected items to pallets, prepare shipping documents for carrier pickup, and communicate with truck lines via email, fax, or phone for outbound shipments. Create and print UPS labels, weigh packages, and operate a fork truck or hand pallet jack as necessary. Prioritize tasks while adhering to ISO 9001 requirements and safety guidelines, reporting any unsafe conditions to supervisors. Work in a team environment during the 2:00pm to 10:30pm shift.
Required Qualifications
- High school diploma or general education degree (GED)
- Computer skills
- Ability to read and comprehend simple instructions, short correspondence, and memos
- Ability to write simple correspondence
- Ability to effectively present information in one-on-one and small group situations to customers, clients, and other employees of the organization
- Ability to add and subtract two-digit numbers and to multiply and divide with 10's and 100's
- Ability to perform these operations using units of weight measurement, volume, and distance
- Ability to apply common sense understanding to carry out simple one-or two-step instructions
- Ability to deal with standardized situations with only occasional or no variables
- Basic personal computer skills
- Ability to prioritize tasks
- Close vision (clear vision at 20 inches or less)
- Color vision (ability to identify and distinguish colors)
- Must be able to bend, reach, push, pull, and carry up to 51 pounds
- Employment is contingent upon successful completion of a physical and drug test
