Job Summary
Fills orders, counts, loads, and unloads product on incoming trailers according to the shipping schedule. Ensures product received from plant or other plants is recorded correctly and loads/unloads to appropriate distribution areas to meet shipping schedules. Maintains cleanliness of the work area and ensures compliance with all company policies and procedures, including EEO, safety, and Sarbanes Oxley. Performs other duties as directed by supervisor, including fulfillment of work schedules and adherence to attendance policies. Requires demonstration of competency for all on-the-job activities affecting product safety, legality, and quality. Role is very physical, demanding the ability to exert force to use a hand truck to transport stacked products weighing up to 400 pounds over distances up to 300 feet continuously, up and down 30-degree slopes, and to lift 20-pound containers from floor level to 7-1/2 feet.
Required Qualifications
- High School or GED
- demonstrated ability to read, comprehend and record information applicable to the job
- One year shipping or related experience
- demonstration of competency for all on-the-job activities that may have a direct or indirect effect on product safety, legality and/or quality
- ability to exert the force necessary to use a hand truck to transport stacked products weighting up to 400 pounds a distance of up to 300 feet continuously throughout the day into and out of transport trucks, up and down 30-degree slopes
- ability to stoop, bend, and lift product containers weighing 20 pounds from floor level up to 7-1/2 feet
- compliance with all company policies and procedures (EEO, Sexual Harassment, Safety, Sarbanes Oxley, etc.)
