Job Summary
Operate bale clamp lift trucks, forklifts, and roll clamp trucks to receive OCC, totes, and freight while inspecting equipment for fluid levels and safety features. Direct incoming yard traffic, process receiving documentation, and insert moisture probes into bales. Stage and stack rolls in designated areas, plan loads using the Mesa system, and load railcars, vans, and flatbeds for outgoing shipments. Print bills of lading, coordinate with hostlers and dispatchers, and perform rail pushes with ground crews. Work rotating or fixed shifts with overtime as needed, maintaining safety checklists and clean-up protocols.
Required Qualifications
- A minimum of a High School Diploma or GED
- Must be able to read & write simple sentences and speak to others in English
- Must be able to add, subtract, multiply and divide numbers
- Must be able to apply common sense understanding to carry out simple written or oral instructions
- Applicants must pass a mechanical aptitude test
- Able to work safely after receiving extensive safety training in all OSHA required subjects that relate to a paper mill manufacturing environment
- Must be able to drive fork lift truck, clamp truck, and B/P truck
- Must process necessary receiving documentation and weigh trucks in and out of mill
- Must be able to load rail cars, vans and flatbeds using BPs or clamp trucks for outgoing shipments
- Must be able to comprehend smart sheet, log data, Print BOL, and provide necessary shipping documentation to drivers
- Must work rotating shift, or fixed shift and overtime when necessary
- Need to have aptitude for using technology including computer software: Outlook, Mesa and other programs for the efficiency of the department
- Be able to operate Mesa units mounted on lifts
