Shipping and Receiving Specialist

Job Summary
Packs and prepares customer orders for shipping, receives material and equipment, and loads and unloads trucks according to established procedures and shipping regulations. Responsibilities include operating lift trucks or hand trucks to move materials, completing daily forklift maintenance, picking orders, preparing products for shipping, verifying order accuracy and bills of lading, loading/unloading trucks, inspecting materials, placing incoming materials into storage, pulling materials for production, banding boxes, affixing labels, and maintaining required paperwork. The role requires communication with the supervisor, strong organizational skills, and the ability to handle physical tasks in a factory environment.
Required Qualifications
- High School Diploma or equivalent
- one to three years’ relevant experience, or equivalent combination of both
- Valid state motor vehicle operator’s license
- Satisfactorily pass forklift driving and overhead crane training
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills
- Ability to perform basic arithmetic in all units of measure
- Ability to critically think and solve problems
- Excellent organizational skills and attention to detail
- Excellent time management skills with the ability to meet deadlines
