Shipping and Receiving Material Handler

The Material Handler is responsible for locating and putting bundled raw stock into inventory, pan raw bar stock for distribution, stock consolidations, and returning restock material to inventory. Material Handlers are also responsible for the transportation, stocking, and staging of manufacturing raw and processed inventory. ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS include moving raw material into inventory, consolidating material to create space, assisting receiving with unloading, returning/restocking material, disposing and stocking non-inventoried items (cardboard, trash, scrap), providing material requirements to Manufacturing, operating forklift and material-moving equipment, maintaining storage areas, reading a tape measure and caliper, and data entry. Must interact in-person with coworkers and the public, handle high stress, and perform other duties as assigned. EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE require High School Diploma/G.E.D. or equivalent and 3-6 months related experience; forklift/4D license and chauffeur license or ability to obtain one. PHYSICAL/ENVIRONMENTAL demands include standing/walking, lifting up to 50 lbs, exposure to a noisy environment and moving parts, and other standard manufacturing conditions. The role is full-time, 1st shift (6:00 AM - 2:30 PM) and located in Kalamazoo, MI with another listed site in the Davis Creek area of Kalamazoo.
