Job Summary
Conduct daily order picking and fulfillment by pulling sales, manufacturing, and engineering work orders from various warehouse locations. Maintain accurate inventory control by recording material usage, completing transactions via RF Smart and scanners, and performing cycle counts to resolve discrepancies. Execute material handling tasks including unloading shipments, inspecting goods, operating sit-down forklifts and reach trucks, and distributing materials throughout the warehouse and production floor. Prepare outbound shipments for small parcels and LTL while ensuring compliance with documentation requirements. Coordinate with production, purchasing, and customer service teams to ensure material availability and communicate shortages impacting timelines. Organize storage areas for efficient accessibility and assist in training new employees on warehouse procedures and inventory systems.
Required Qualifications
- High school diploma or GED
- Minimum of 2 years of experience in shipping and receiving, warehouse operations, material handling, or inventory control
- Proven experience operating forklifts (sit-down, reach truck, order picker)
- Strong understanding of shipping and receiving processes, inventory management, and order fulfillment
- Basic math and computer skills for data entry and inventory tracking
- Ability to prioritize tasks and manage multiple responsibilities in a fast-paced warehouse environment
- Strong attention to detail with a focus on inventory accuracy
- Effective communication and teamwork skills
- Problem-solving abilities and strong organizational skills
- Ability to lift, push, or pull up to 35 lbs independently and more with assistance
- Ability to stand, walk, bend, stoop, reach, and climb for extended periods during warehouse operations
- Comfortable working in a non-climate-controlled warehouse or manufacturing environment
- Ability to safely operate forklifts and other material handling equipment
- Must be able to wear required PPE (safety shoes, gloves, eye and hearing protection)
- Willingness to work overtime as needed to support shipping and receiving and production demands
