Shipping and Receiving Clerk

Job Summary
Prioritize, package, and prepare outgoing shipments while receiving, verifying, and transferring materials to Receiving inspection. Load and unload trucks, palletize, secure, and wrap freight as required, and perform final packaging of various shipments. Coordinate pickups and deliveries with freight forwarders, create Bills of Lading, and identify hazardous materials for movement. Enter material data into the company operating system and report damage, overages, or shortages on inbound materials. Perform vehicle inspections on outbound munitions and follow ITAR and international regulations on export control. Shift: 1st Shift Monday-Friday 7:30a-4:00p. Hourly pay with medical, dental, and vision insurance, 401k matching, and generous PTO.
Required Qualifications
- High School Diploma or equivalent
- 2-3 years of related experience
- Must be cleared as Employee Possessor by Bureau of Alcohol, Tobacco and Firearms as required by the Safe Explosives Act
- Must have ability to be certified for fork lift training when/if required
- Must be able to study for and pass FL State Blaster License
- Must complete 80-hour DOT/DOD hazardous materials course (on-line)
- inventory control, planning, purchasing or logistics experience
- Extensive experience with MRP/ERP systems
- Fluent oral and written communication skills, including the ability to create and deliver training materials and business presentations at all levels
- good math, reading and computer skills, including MS Office applications
- An understanding of charts, tables, specifications, schedules, use of adjustable measuring instruments; checking of reports, forms, records and comparable data; interpretation
- Must be able to lift and negotiate up to 60 pounds
Desired Qualifications
- Broad knowledge of inventory control, supply chain operations and business administration in a manufacturing environment
