Shipping and Materials Clerk- ATL (37922)

Job Summary

Ensure 100% error-free shipments and invoices by scanning all product through every process aspect and verifying material identification before dispatch. Ship materials per customer release schedules while adhering to First In, First Out (FIFO) standards and completing necessary shipping papers and bills of lading with signatures. Load and unload trailers and trucks to maintain turn-around times under one hour, operating forklifts and working safely around manufacturing machinery. Assist in inventory management, keep designated storage areas organized, and report organizational concerns to your supervisor. Work overtime and emergency shifts as required, communicating daily activities and problem areas with supervisors and coworkers.

Required Qualifications

  • Knowledge of basic math, reading, and writing
  • Forklift experience
  • Ability to possess good physical stamina and coordination
  • Ability to sit for prolonged periods of time
  • Ability to read standardized work instructions
  • Ability to see clearly at close and distance ranges, distinguish colors, maintain peripheral vision, perceive depth, and adjust focus as necessary
  • Ability to walk and stand
  • Ability to operate forklifts
  • Ability to use hand positioning to grip/grasp controls of forklift or other equipment
  • Ability to lift or carry materials weighing up to 20 pounds
  • Ability to periodically lift materials weighing up to 50 lbs
  • Ability to kneel, crouch, or crawl to perform work
  • Ability to recognize potential exposure to environmental, mechanical, chemical, electrical, and explosive hazards
  • Ability to wear personal protective equipment, for example: safety glasses, gloves, hats, ear plugs, and steel-toed safety shoes
  • Ability to work in a loud manufacturing environment that is not climate controlled (conditions can be hot or cold)
  • Ability to work overtime hours as required and be available for emergency overtime when the need arises
  • Ability to regularly report for work on time
  • Ability to follow instructions from supervisor to adapt to any short-term requirements
  • Ability to communicate with Associates and between shifts on daily activities
  • Ability to communicate and exchange problem areas with supervisors and fellow coworkers
  • Ability to work cooperatively with others in a team environment
  • Ability to work safely around and/or while operating heaving equipment or manufacturing machinery
  • Ability to maintain clean and orderly work area consistent with safety and work rules and regulations
