Job Summary
Shipper/Receiver role at MCF in Calgary, DAY SHIFT (6 am–2:30 pm) requiring forklift operation, RF scanning, and inventory control in a refrigerated warehouse. Responsibilities include safely loading/unloading transport, operating stand-up forklifts and pallet jacks, receiving freight with Bills of Lading, using RF scanners for inventory, labeling and locating goods, communicating via radio, and maintaining a clean, safe warehouse. Must lift up to 70 lbs, work up to 8 hours in a refrigerated environment, and be able to work overtime. Requires English proficiency and basic computer skills; PPE is provided and required. Competitive wage up to $20.05 per hour per collective agreement, with strong benefits.
Required Qualifications
- Forklift certification (current or recently expired within 3 months)
- Experience operating stand-up forklifts
- Experience with electric/motorized pallet jacks (walkies and ride-ons)
- Experience with RF guns for scanning and inventory movement
- Ability to read/speak English for communication with drivers and team members
- Ability to lift at least 70 lbs (about 32 kg) from ground
- Ability to perform manual labor up to 8 hours/day
- Ability to work in refrigerated/freezer environments and potentially extreme conditions
- Willingness to work overtime when needed
- Basic computer skills
- Ability to sign Bills of Lading (BOL) and verify accuracy of received goods
- Ability to use RF scanners to receive freight and scan inventory to correct locations
- Maintain clean, organized warehouse and follow PPE requirements
- Demonstrate teamwork with office personnel and communicate over radio
