Job Summary
Operate the high-speed packaging line cutting master cable lengths to shipping lengths, perform rework, preparation, inspection, and loading finished cable products for shipment while consistently meeting quality and productivity requirements in a safe manner. Always comply with safety rules, verify product conformity against engineering specifications and customer instructions, inspect empty take-up reels for defects, and terminate cable ends as required. Generate product identification tags, maintain accurate record keeping of non-conforming product, weigh work center scrap, and complete scrap reporting. Schedule and complete work assignments to meet shipping dates and load trucks in conformance with work orders and Hendrix standards.
Required Qualifications
- Material handling techniques
- Operation of high-speed packaging line equipment
- High voltage testing and fault location
- Understands the safety issues associated with chemicals, the high-speed packaging line, high voltage testing and various tools used in the work area
- Tools and measuring devices applicable to the industry
- ISO requirements pertaining to the lines
- Read micrometers and other related precision tools
- Communicate effectively to receive and pass on information and instructions
- Mechanical aptitude regarding line operation and troubleshooting of basic line problems
- Fulfill simple computer tasks
Desired Qualifications
- Experience in the wire & cable industry a plus
