Job Summary
Lay out work from blueprints and cut, burn, grind, rip out, and fit metal structural parts for placement on ship. Tack and weld foundation and structural members while operating overhead cranes, rigging equipment, and high-reaching tools like condors and sky climbers. Drive wedges, install temporary fasteners, and clean up scrap to designated tubs. Requires OSHA 10-Hour Maritime Certificate, 3/4 years of Shipfitter experience, and ability to work at heights, in confined spaces, and any shift including overtime. Must pass drug and alcohol screening and hold DBIDS eligibility.
