Job Summary
Conduct shipfitting and welding operations on heavy steel structures, pressure vessels, and boilers in a Philadelphia shipyard. Execute stick and flux core tack welding, oxy-acetylene burning, and blueprint interpretation while adhering to industrial safety standards. Maintain 1st Class Skill Test proficiency for SMAW and FCAW tack testing. Submit a detailed resume for review to apply for this long-term project role offering $28 hourly wages and $150 per diem. Candidates must possess a minimum of five years' experience in shipyards and manufacturing, with the ability to work any shift and overtime as required.
Required Qualifications
- Minimum 5 years' experience in Shipyards with shipbuilding production or ship repair
- Businesses with manufacturing of heavy steel structures
- Production of pressure vessels, boilers and other similar quality products
- Welding and fitting, hand tools and industrial safety
- Must be able to read and comprehend blueprints
- Must have experience with stick & flux core tack welding
- Must have oxy Acetylene Burning Torch experience
- Must successfully pass 1st Class Skill Test
- Must successfully pass a Written Test
- Must successfully pass 1st Class Skill Test – (3F/4F SMAW & FCAW Tack Test)
- Must successfully pass a Written Test & Blueprint Test
