Job Summary
Coordinate SHINE, SMP, and MIPPA programs by triaging consumer requests, assigning volunteers, and managing volunteer files and paperwork. Develop work plans, prepare monthly through yearly reports, and coordinate communications between groups, agencies, and local volunteer coordinators. Schedule and coordinate events including health fairs, award ceremonies, and training workshops while processing travel and reimbursement requests. Maintain active volunteer counselor status, complete required trainings, and supervise the SHINE Liaison Assistant and volunteers. Work independently with essential travel, evening, and overnight requirements in the Pensacola area.
Required Qualifications
- Bachelor's Degree or equivalent
- Valid Florida driver's license
- Must be able to pass Level II Background Screening
- Must have experience working with computers, especially with Microsoft applications
- Must have at least an intermediate level of proficiency with Excel, Word, and Outlook
- Must have experience with database entry and/or database management
- Must have above average presentation skills
- Must be able to lift or move boxes up to 10 lbs
- Must be able to maintain effective audio-visual discrimination and perception as needed to make observations, read and write, make practical mathematical computations, communicate with others, and operate assigned office equipment
- Must maintain mental capacity which permits him/her to make sound decisions, use good judgement, adjust to changing circumstances and emergencies, demonstrate intellectual capabilities and work effectively with others, specifically senior adults
- Must be able to lift or move boxes up to 10 lbs
- Must be able to maintain physical condition appropriate to the performance of assigned duties and responsibilities which may include the following: sitting or standing for extended periods of time and operating assigned office equipment such as telephone, computer, calculator, copy and/or fax machines
- Must be able to effectively lead and coach others
- Must be able to recruit and retain volunteers and community partners
- Must be able to work independently with minimal supervision
- Must have dependable transportation
- Must be available for evening and overnight and out of area travel
- Must maintain active SHINE Volunteer Counselor status
- Must complete STARS, SIRS, and eCIRTS trainings
- Must complete eight required mentoring sessions with a seasoned volunteer or local liaison/leadership member
- Must have a bachelor's degree from an accredited college or university in a human services related field
- Must have an associate's degree from an accredited college or university in a human services related field AND a minimum of two years of experience in a related field
- Must have a high school diploma or GED and four years of experience in a related field
Desired Qualifications
- Previous experience with Volunteer Management
- Previous (paid or volunteer) experience assisting the senior population
