Job Summary
Operate can manufacturing equipment to achieve plant KPI targets while maintaining equipment to minimize downtime and ensure quality standards. Perform required quality checks, report non-conformities, and carry out safe repairs, preventive maintenance, and setup checks as directed by the Engineering Department. Utilize ancillary equipment like fork trucks to perform production line duties and conduct housekeeping, cleaning, and painting tasks throughout the plant. Work safely, report unsafe conditions immediately, and participate in continuous improvement activities to meet objectives.
Required Qualifications
- 5 GCSE's or equivalent including Maths and English
- Recognised Time Served Apprenticeship
- ONC / HNC Qualification or equivalent
- Apprenticeship in a Manufacturing Mechanical Engineering discipline
- Working knowledge of Health and Safety work practises
- Experience of preventative and planned maintenance on production equipment
- Experience of working on production machinery
- Experience of repairing spare parts for production machinery
- The ability and willingness to assist with breakdowns and line conversions
- Can demonstrate the ability to work precisely with strong attention to detail
- A team player with strong problem solving and analytical skills, with the ability to work alone under their own initiative
- The ability to work well under pressure and organise and prioritise their work load
- Ability to complete paperwork accurately and thoroughly
- English written and verbal
- Basic Computer Skills
- Flexibility or willingness to travel to other locations
- Commit to working maintenance days
Desired Qualifications
- A basic knowledge of quality and hygiene systems would be advantageous
- Possess an enthusiastic and proactive, goal orientated approach
- Maintains technical knowledge by attending training courses as and when required
