Job Summary
Shift Technician Chargeman responsible for maintaining electrical infrastructure, responding to machine breakdowns and faults to minimize downtime, supporting facility operations, and ensuring compliance with safety requirements and statutory obligations to enable uninterrupted production. Responsibilities include routine inspections, condition-based and preventive maintenance on electrical installations and power distribution, monitoring asset health and reporting findings with corrective actions, supervising maintenance personnel and contractors, supporting commissioning and modification activities, conducting electrical quality inspections, investigating incidents and failures, participating in planned shutdowns, and contributing to standardization of maintenance procedures. Essential skills include troubleshooting electrical systems, reading schematics/diagrams, knowledge of LOTO and safety standards, and collaboration across cross-functional teams to ensure safe, reliable utilities and facility services for manufacturing.
Required Qualifications
- Diploma or Certificate in Electrical Engineering, Electrical Technology or related discipline
- Valid Chargeman certification issued by Suruhanjaya Tenaga (AO, A1, A4, or equivalent)
- Competent person certification and registration with relevant authorities (added advantage)
- Minimum 5 years of experience in electrical maintenance, facilities operations, utilities, semiconductor/electronics manufacturing, or industrial environments
- Hands-on troubleshooting of electrical systems, power distribution equipment, motor control systems, switchboards, and facility infrastructure
- Knowledge of low-voltage electrical systems, electrical protection systems, and power distribution networks
- Familiarity with preventive maintenance, predictive maintenance, and condition monitoring
- Ability to read electrical drawings and technical documentation
- Strong safety and LOTO practices
- Willingness to work rotating shifts, weekends, holidays, and call-outs
