Job Summary
Manage the safe and efficient operation of the Biomass Power Plant at Widmerpool, ensuring continuous power output for over 10,000 homes. Conduct first-line diagnosis and maintenance on the Fuel Feed, Furnace, Boiler, Steam Turbine, and CEMS systems while enforcing Health, Safety, and Environmental constraints. Provide shift rota cover including weekends and public holidays, and perform Senior Authorised Person duties for safe isolation and depressurisation. Lead daily Work Control meetings to coordinate maintenance and report plant performance to the Management team.
Required Qualifications
- Recognised apprenticeship/engineering qualification
- Practical experience in an operations or maintenance role in a power generation, EfW, marine propulsion, petrochemical or process systems setting
- Experience of operating plant via a DCS/SCADA interface
- Knowledge of pressure systems, LV and HV electricity preferable
- Proficient IT skills including word & excel for reporting duties
- Understanding of Safe Systems of Work
- Willingness to work shift systems associated with a 24/7 operation
