Job Summary

Oversee daily restaurant operations by leading the front-line team, managing food preparation and inventory, and ensuring compliance with food safety and sanitation standards. Resolve customer complaints promptly, monitor service speed and quality, and handle accurate cash handling and register operations. Delegate tasks based on workflow priorities, adjust staffing levels to meet demand, and coach staff on company policies and best practices. Make quick decisions to address operational challenges and report significant issues to management. Work flexible shifts including nights, weekends, and holidays in a fast-paced environment, reporting to the Restaurant Manager or General Manager.

Required Qualifications

  • Ability to stand for extended periods (4-8+ hours) with periodic breaks
  • Perform repetitive motions, including frequent use of hands and arms for tasks such as chopping, stirring, carrying, and operating equipment
  • Frequent bending, stooping, squatting, stretching, twisting, and reaching above eye level
  • Capability to walk up and down stairs and use a step ladder as needed
  • Ability to lift and carry up to 50 pounds regularly as part of job duties, including but not limited to food supplies, dishware, and equipment
  • Ability to move around the kitchen quickly and efficiently
  • Compliance with food safety and sanitation regulations
  • Flexible scheduling, including nights, weekends, and holidays
  • Work in a loud, fast-paced environment
  • Employees may regularly work in varying temperature zones, including hot kitchen areas with stoves, ovens, grills, and fryers, as well as cold storage areas like refrigerators and freezers
  • May involve exposure to heat, noise, and cleaning chemicals in the kitchen area
  • Proper personal protective equipment (PPE) and training to ensure safety and comfort while handling temperature-sensitive tasks
  • Awareness of temperature fluctuations and safe practices is essential for maintaining food safety standards and personal well-being
  • Awareness of potential hazards such as hot surfaces, sharp objects, and wet floors
  • Previous experience in food service, preferably in a supervisory or leadership role
  • Strong leadership and people management skills to effectively lead a team and foster a positive work environment
  • Excellent customer service skills with the ability to resolve complaints and ensure customer satisfaction
  • Clear and effective communication skills, both verbal and written, with the ability to relay information to team members and management
  • Ability to make decisions quickly and effectively, resolving issues with minimal disruption
  • Strong organizational skills with the ability to manage multiple tasks and priorities simultaneously
  • High level of attention to detail in maintaining restaurant standards and meeting customer expectations

Desired Qualifications

  • A background in fast-casual or quick-service restaurants is a plus
