Job Summary
Oversee daily cafe operations by managing service flow, ensuring safety and cleanliness, and executing inventory tasks such as ordering and receiving. Lead team members through strategic staff deployment, break oversight, and new menu guidance while handling cash deposits and addressing guest concerns. Facilitate onboarding and training for new hires, drive sales growth initiatives, and model Omotenashi hospitality standards. Ensure compliance with food safety protocols and sustainability objectives through continuous feedback and participation in coffee tastings. Available for flexible shifts including mornings, evenings, weekends, and holidays. Requires supervisory experience, Blue Bottle Academy completion, and state-specific food safety certification.
Required Qualifications
- 6 months to 1 year of supervisory experience or experience in team leadership
- Completed Blue Bottle Academy's Barista training and validation program or will complete it within 90 days post-hire
- Existing Food Safety Certification required for the state you will be working in and for your specific role, or will obtain it within 30 days post-hire
- Basic math and computer skills
- A flexible schedule and are available to work mornings, evenings, weekends, and holidays
- Eligible to work in the United States and 18 years of age or older
- Ability to stand and walk for long periods of time
- Use of hands to reach, grip, turn, and perform precision work
- As needed, squat, bend, twist, and reach for items below waist level or above shoulders
- Ability to lift, push/pull, carry, and/or move up to 50 pounds
- As needed, climb ladders, stairs, ramps, and uneven floors and/or surfaces
- Ability to smell and taste
- Ability to listen and speak
