Job Summary
Monitor boilers, turbine, and steam plant operations during assigned rotating 12-hour shifts, conducting routine plant tours to oversee personnel and ensure compliance with safety regulations and environmental permits. Direct emergency responses, coordinate maintenance activities, and approve equipment removal requests while troubleshooting operational issues and issuing safety permits. Train and manage a cross-trained workforce to maintain an efficient, safe environment. Requires an ASME QRO Provisional & Site-Specific Operators license and 5+ years in power plant operations.
Required Qualifications
- HS Diploma or GED
- 5 years or more of experience in power or resource recovery plant operations
- Hands-on experience with high-pressure boilers and electrical generation
- Formal technical training
- ASME QRO Provisional & Site-Specific Operators license
- Detailed knowledge of the operation of steam generating power stations and instrument and control systems
- Ability to originate and monitor plant procedures and technical instructions
- Well-developed skills in troubleshooting equipment and systems
- Well-developed skills in training personnel
- Well-developed skills in interpreting logic diagrams
- Good communication skills
- Strong leadership skills
