Job Summary

Oversee service flow to uphold optimal levels of safety, cleanliness, quality, and efficiency while actively contributing to sales growth initiatives. Manage operations by executing essential duties such as ordering, receiving, and managing inventory, and strategically deploy staff to ensure adherence to Blue Bottle's standards for beverage and food preparation. Facilitate the onboarding and training of new team members, provide guidance on new menu offerings, and promptly address guest concerns. Assume responsibility for cash handling and daily deposits, and lead efforts to achieve company-wide sustainability objectives by engaging the team in initiatives like tastings and cuppings. Consistently prepare and serve beverages and food items to the highest quality standards while demonstrating exemplary behavior as a role model. Report incidents of illness and injury as per protocol and foster a culture of continuous learning within the cafe. This role requires comprehensive knowledge of cafe expenditures, 6 months to 1 year of supervisory experience, and existing Food Safety Certification. The position offers $16.50 per hour plus tips, with a flexible schedule available for mornings, evenings, weekends, and holidays.

Required Qualifications

  • Eligible to work in the United States
  • 18 years of age or older
  • 6 months to 1 year of supervisory experience or experience in team leadership
  • Completed Blue Bottle's Barista Essentials training and validation program or will complete it within 90 days post-hire
  • Existing Food Safety Certification required for the state you will be working in and your specific role or will obtain it within 30 days post-hire
  • Basic math and computer skills
  • A flexible schedule and are available to work mornings, evenings, weekends and holidays
  • Ability to stand and walk for long periods of time
  • Use of hands to reach, grip, turn and perform precision work
  • As needed squat, bend, twist and reach for items below waist level or above shoulders
  • Ability to lift, push/pull, carry and/or move up to 50 pounds
  • As needed climb ladders, stairs, ramps and uneven floor and/or surfaces
  • Ability to smell and taste
  • Ability to listen and speak
