Job Summary

Monitor the entire retail center, addressing immediate safety, customer focus, product flow, and aesthetics issues personally or through delegation. Manage breaks, redirect staff to address call-offs, and coach employees verbally or with initial write-ups. Assist with opening and closing procedures, verify daily sales reports, count drawers, and manage change between drawers and the safe. Coordinate the customer service team, serve as the first escalation point for complaints, and handle turning down donations at Attended Donation Centers. Ensure E-Commerce products are processed accurately, maintain proficiency with pallet jacks and forklifts, and fill in for emergencies when Assistant Managers or Managers are unavailable.

Required Qualifications

  • Able to withstand prolonged standing, bending, and lifting up to 8 hours per day
  • Able to work a varied schedule to include weekends, evenings, and holidays with occasional overtime as necessary
  • Able to obtain certification in all employee positions through completion of On the Job (OJT) documentation
  • Able to obtain walkie stacker and/or forklift certification to safely operate equipment
  • Able to quickly problem solve and make decisions
  • Able to maintain confidentiality and follow Goodwill's policies and procedures
  • Proficient in the utilization of office equipment, office software (i.e. Word, Excel) and web-based applications (i.e. UKG) to meet the needs of employees and the organization
  • Ability to communicate effectively both verbally and electronically with customers, managers, supervisors, staff, and peers
  • Must be able to lift 45 lbs & over - OCCASIONALLY

  • Must be able to use and become certified on pallet jack, walkie stacker, forklift, hand dolly, or other equipment or tools to effectively move and store donated product
  • Must be able to maintain knowledge to the level where operations can be maintained in rare cases where no Assistant Manager or Manager are able to be on premises
  • Must be able to plan, coordinate, and control the activities of the customer service team to maintain and enhance customer relationships, meet organizational, and operational objectives
  • Must be able to serve as first escalation point for customer complaints
  • Must be able to serve as point of contact for turning down donations at Attended Donation Centers (ADC)
  • Must be able to manage breaks

Desired Qualifications

  • A High School diploma or equivalent is preferred
  • Previous supervisory experience is preferred
  • Two (2) years' retail experience is desired
  • Familiar with product pricing, trends, fashions, and seasonal changes
