Job Summary
Shift Supervisor provides 24-hour security coverage to the facility and oversees operations, supervising Residential Aides, coordinating floor posts and meal/break schedules, orienting and documenting new clients, and maintaining compliance with DHS/AAPCI/HRA regulations. Responsibilities include coaching and mentoring staff, conducting wellness checks, performing room inspections and safety tasks, managing inventory and access control, reviewing logs and shift reports, and communicating with the Program Director and Case Manager regarding client concerns. The role requires strong interpersonal and written communication, teamwork, and the ability to respond to emergencies per regulatory protocols.
Required Qualifications
- Associate Degree in a related field OR High School Diploma or equivalency with 3-4 years of related experience in a shelter setting
- 2-3 years supervisory experience
- Residential Aide work experience with progressive responsibilities
- Strong verbal and written communication skills
- Ability to interact effectively with a diverse community of residents and staff
- Ability to perform documentation, reports, and incident response per DHS/AAPCI/HRA regulations
- Knowledge of safety, security operations, and access control
- Ability to supervise, mentor, and train staff
- Flexible to support 24-hour facility operations
