Job Summary
Shift Supervisor at Bechtel National, Inc. supporting the Uranium Processing Facility at the Y-12 National Security Complex in Oak Ridge, TN. You will operate and maintain plant equipment and systems according to process design requirements; generate operating, inventory, and shift reports; monitor, test, analyze, and resolve equipment or supply issues; and coordinate routine sampling and analytical work. You will identify equipment problems, initiate repair documentation, prepare work orders for servicing, and assist with startup activities while ensuring units operate as designed. You will perform frequent data logging and analysis to verify performance, prepare inventory and shift reports, and participate in emergency response activities as part of a multi-disciplinary team. Requires a bachelor’s degree and substantial experience in plant operations/management, experience with Work Control Software, and the ability to conduct field inspections in an industrial environment with PPE and safe-work practices. The role involves rotating shift patterns and compliance with site access, security, and safety requirements.
Required Qualifications
- Bachelor's degree (or international equivalent)
- 5-8 years of relevant experience or 9-12 years of relevant work experience
- Previous experience as an Operational Supervisor
- Recent plant Operations/Management experience
- Experience in using Work Control Software
- Must be physically able to conduct field inspections and participate in project walk-downs
- Extensive walking in and around a construction site, climbing ladders, climbing scaffolding, using fall protection and other PPE, walking on elevated platforms, walking on uneven surfaces, and maneuvering around small and/or confined spaces
