Job Summary
Oversee daily operations for assigned shifts at Sunny Glen Children's Home, ensuring proper supervision of Unaccompanied Children in ORR custody while providing basic needs like meals, clothing, and hygiene products upon arrival. Complete monthly supervision documentation, annual performance appraisals, and staff work schedules; approve leave requests and address performance issues with proper documentation. Ensure intake services are completed timely, including paperwork and initial youth placements, while maintaining compliance with State Licensing and ORR requirements through accurate progress notes and forms. Develop positive rapport with children as a role model, assist with special educational events and acculturation activities, and maintain open communication with the Lead Supervisor regarding incidents. Attend all organizational training, departmental meetings, and Treatment Team Meetings to convey children's progress, while adapting quickly to changes and supporting evacuation efforts as needed.
Required Qualifications
- Must be 21 years of age or older
- Must be bilingual in English and Spanish
- High School Diploma or Equivalent
- 1 year of Supervisory experience
- 1 year ORR experience working with youth services
- Knowledge of human behavior, development, and trauma
- Ability to read, analyze, and interpret general business periodicals, professional journals, technical procedures, or governmental regulations
- Ability to write reports, business correspondence, and procedure manuals
- Ability to effectively present information and respond to questions from groups of managers, clients, and the general public
- Ability to add, subtract, multiply, and divide in all units of measure, using whole numbers, common fractions, and decimals
- Ability to compute rate, ratio, and percentages
- Ability to apply common sense understanding to carry out instructions furnished in written, oral, or diagram form
- Ability to deal with problems involving several concrete variables in standardized situations
