Job Summary
Oversee daily restaurant operations during assigned shifts by supervising the front-line team, managing breaks and staffing levels, and ensuring compliance with food safety and sanitation regulations. Lead by example to maintain high standards for food quality, cleanliness, and customer service while resolving operational challenges and guest complaints promptly. Monitor performance metrics including speed of service and labor costs, delegate tasks based on workflow priorities, and report issues to the Restaurant Manager. Make quick decisions to address conflicts or equipment malfunctions, ensuring the team remains productive and safe in a fast-paced environment.
Required Qualifications
- Previous experience in food service
- Supervisory or leadership role experience
- Strong leadership and people management skills
- Excellent customer service skills
- Clear and effective communication skills, both verbal and written
- Ability to make decisions quickly and effectively
- Strong organizational skills with the ability to manage multiple tasks and priorities simultaneously
- High level of attention to detail
- Ability to stand for extended periods (4-8+ hours) with periodic breaks
- Capability to walk up and down stairs and use a step ladder as needed
- Ability to lift and carry up to 50 pounds regularly
- Compliance with food safety and sanitation regulations
- Flexible scheduling, including nights, weekends, and holidays
- Ability to work in a loud, fast-paced environment
- Ability to work in varying temperature zones, including hot kitchen areas and cold storage areas
- Awareness of temperature fluctuations and safe practices
- Adaptability to different environments (indoor and outdoor)
- Awareness of potential hazards such as hot surfaces, sharp objects, and wet floors
