Job Summary
Direct and ensure the efficient operation of the front line and kitchen by quickly preparing customer orders according to specifications and prioritizing work load to serve customers first. Operate all kitchen equipment, maintain knowledge of operations, and report needed repairs to the Maintenance Department. Create and maintain a positive atmosphere among employees and customers while ensuring consistent product portions and quality. Acknowledge and speak to customers in a friendly manner, directing employees to work as a team. Follow all safety rules, policies, and procedures to prevent injuries, dissatisfied customers, and equipment damage. Work under close supervision with abundant customer contacts, tolerating standing, walking, and lifting up to 50 lbs for 90% of shift time in a potentially noisy and extreme temperature environment.
Required Qualifications
- thorough knowledge of kitchen food preparation, register equipment operation and crew employment procedures
- good interpersonal communication skills to work with fellow employees and customers
- good hearing to work with customers and fellow employees and to work the drive through when necessary
- good vision to observe store dynamics and to operate kitchen equipment safely
- honest
- assertive and aggressive, but well mannered
- ability to follow verbal and written instructions and read recipes
- ability to pay attention to detail, cope with pressure and remain calm when challenging situations arise
- ability to work as team member and perform job duties with a minimum of disruption to customers or fellow employees
- ability to tolerate standing, walking, lifting up to 50 lbs. and stooping during 90% of shift time
- good manual dexterity to be able to work rapidly and accurately during rush periods
- ability to work as part of a team to assure constant and consistent customer satisfaction through excellent quality, service and cleanliness
- ability to observe, recognize, make decisions, react quickly, and adjust to different situations
- ability to set priorities and react quickly to the needs of the customers, the dining room, and the work area
