Job Summary
Shift Manager will lead store operations in the absence of the Store Manager, model Hansen’s IGA Market culture, and deliver best-in-class guest service. Responsibilities include greeting and assisting customers, resolving questions and complaints, delegating tasks, training and mentoring associates, managing inventory and deliveries, maintaining store conditions and safety standards, opening/closing duties, coordinating with departments on daily needs and schedules, creating attractive displays, supporting promotional events, and ensuring efficient, compliant operation across departments. Requires leadership, customer service excellence, knowledge of health/safety regulations, ability to work in a fast-paced environment, and the capacity to lift up to 50 pounds.
Required Qualifications
- Minimum age 18 due to operation of store equipment
- Experience with food handling and cooking preferred in a grocery setting
- Leadership experience preferred
- Ability to interact with customers
- Strong team orientation and ability to anticipate needs
- Knowledge of local and state health, sanitation and safety regulations
- Ability to work in fast-paced environment
- Ability to adapt to changing conditions, priorities and circumstances
- Ability to take initiative and make decisions independently with supervision
- Excellent time management, prioritization and organization
- Strong problem-solving and conflict resolution skills
- Proficiency with Microsoft Office
- Physical ability to stand, walk, lift, bend, push/pull for extended periods; ability to lift up to 50 pounds
