Job Summary
Experienced Shift Manager to lead depot operations at Carlisle Depot. Manages self-employed Owner Drivers and employed drivers, drives engagement and motivation, and ensures delivery performance targets are met (Core Routes, Stops Per Route, and overall route efficiency). Responsible for driver load/safety checks, timely communications, resource planning for ad-hoc collections, and ensuring documentation and systems align with company and regulatory requirements. Requires strong people-management skills, excellent communication, decisive decision-making, data reporting and analysis capabilities, and adherence to health and safety standards. Focus is on maintaining world-class service while fostering a collaborative, compliant, and efficient depot operation.
Required Qualifications
- Experience in a fast-paced operation with proven people management responsibilities
- Strong communication and motivational skills
- Decisive problem-solving and time-management abilities
- Ability to perform comprehensive reporting and data analysis
- Proficiency with Google Chrome applications and standard software
- Commitment to health, safety and regulatory compliance
- Ability to manage a mix of self-employed and employed drivers
- Experience in achieving depot targets and KPI/Service/Cost/Productivity objectives
- Ability to coordinate resources for ad-hoc collections and staffing
- Customer-service oriented with ability to lead a team in a high-volume environment
