Job Summary
Shift Manager at Chick-fil-A South Gate leads daily restaurant operations (Front of House or Kitchen) under supervision of Restaurant Directors, ensuring California labor law compliance, guest and team member care, and end-to-end shift execution. Responsibilities include managing shifts, monitoring attendance, resolving guest complaints, maintaining operational excellence (cleanliness, flow, and throughput), coaching and developing team members and Coaches, addressing bottlenecks, and communicating concerns to leadership. Ideal candidate demonstrates strong leadership, the ability to work in a fast-paced environment, superb guest service, problem-solving in real-time, and proficiency with task-management apps. Bilingual English/Spanish is desirable. Flexible scheduling required to meet operational needs; minimum of 6 months restaurant experience; 2+ years in hospitality preferred. Location is South Gate, CA onsite.
Required Qualifications
- At least 6 months experience working in a restaurant (preferably Chick-fil-A)
- Experience in hospitality/restaurant environment (preferably Chick-fil-A)
- Ability to work a flexible schedule to accommodate operational needs within a 24 hours per week schedule
- Strong leadership, motivational, and people skills
- Customer service-oriented and able to manage guest expectations
- Ability to lead shifts and ensure operational excellence
- Comfort with troubleshooting IT issues and using apps for task management
